An Academic Platform Shaping the Future of Health Technologies
BAU HTA (Bahçeşehir University Health Technology Assessment Platform) is an interdisciplinary academic platform established to advance activities in the fields of Health Technology Assessment (HTA), Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), evidence-based decision-making, value-based healthcare systems, market access strategies, health policy, and healthcare innovation.
The platform aims to facilitate the effective translation of scientific knowledge into healthcare decision-making processes, promote the comprehensive evaluation of health technologies from clinical, economic, ethical, and societal perspectives, and contribute to the development of national and international capacity in these areas.
Operating under the umbrella of Bahçeşehir University, BAU HTA seeks to bring together academia, public institutions, healthcare providers, the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, technology developers, civil society organizations, and international stakeholders to create shared value within the healthcare ecosystem.
The primary mission of BAU HTA is to conduct scientific research in health technology assessment and health economics, develop educational activities, provide consultancy to decision-makers and institutions, foster national and international collaborations, and strengthen Türkiye’s institutional capacity in these fields.
By supporting the development of evidence-based approaches that contribute to the sustainability of healthcare systems, the platform provides academic leadership in promoting effective, accessible, and value-based healthcare transformation.

Evaluation of the clinical, economic, and societal impacts of new pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health solutions, diagnostic methods, and healthcare delivery models.
Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR)
Economic analyses, cost-effectiveness studies, and real-world evidence research aimed at assessing the efficient use of healthcare resources.
Market Access and Value-Based Healthcare
Research on the integration of health technologies into healthcare systems, reimbursement policies, value-based healthcare approaches, and market access strategies.

BAU HTA at HTAi 2026
BAU HTA plays a significant role in HTAi 2026, one of the most prominent international events in the field of health technology assessment.
Representing Bahçeşehir University, BAU HTA serves as the Corporate Partner and Academic Host of the HTAi 2026 Annual Meeting, which will be held in Istanbul.
In this capacity, the platform contributes to:

As part of HTAi 2026, BAU HTA will organize a satellite symposium focusing on the growing role of universities in health technology assessment.
The Future of HTA in Emerging LMICs:
The Strategic Role of Universities in Shaping System Capacity and Collaboration
This special session will explore key topics including the development of HTA capacity in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), the strategic role of universities in knowledge generation and workforce development, the strengthening of international collaborations, and the advancement of sustainable healthcare systems.
The symposium will bring together academics, policymakers, industry representatives, and researchers from different countries to exchange perspectives and share current approaches in health technology assessment.
